FunPlayCastles.com strives to inspire creativity through imaginary play. A place where imagination is available to all ages and abilities. Our vision is to offer free resources and instruction for educators, parents, caregivers, adults, and children alike. Fun Play Castles' goal is to provide encouragement to build and play with fun dream castles in the sky, clouds, and down here on the Earth too.

Our mission is to provide inspiration for wholesome play, to exercise creativity and imagination for all ages and abilities. We're actively building fun dream castles to reach playful imaginative goals.

About Me

I am a life long learner and have vast experience creating and making and a myriad of interests. I live in the Village of Owego, New York in the United States of America. It's a pretty little town nestled between the Susquehanna River and low mountains. The streets are lined with trees that flower in spring time and change colors in autumn. Owego is a pet friendly place and you will see dogs or all shapes and sizes walking the sidewalks with their owners. The town even allows for backyard chickens! I have rescued several cats from the streets of Owego and now have seven feline friends that share my home. I also have two tiny Chiweenies - Dachshund and Chihuahua mixes and a myriad of fish. I love celebrating the holidays, so check back for ideas and inspiration. I love nature too and will share free original and exclusive coloring pages that I create myself the old fashioned way! I hope to share my joy in both the natural and imaginary world through a variety of mediums. Future posts will contain games, rhymes, crochet patterns, knitting patterns, cooking and recipes, physical activities, plays, more short stories and writing or story telling prompts like the one below,. Crafts like painting, paper mache, macrame and sculpting are a few of my favorites too. I have noticed many websites changing from free content to pay on demand content. I would like to offer free resources including PDF downloads with no strings attached. You won't even have to sign up for a mailing list to access content. I will support FunPlayCastles.com through optional affiliate links where I will receive a small commission on referrals. However, every art and craft instruction, writing or story telling prompt, coloring page that I create myself will be available free of charge. The only except is my books. Story and Writing Prompt

I took the above photo of peach blossoms at my family's farm, Moelius Farms in Binghamton, NY. This peach tree has suffered a cracked trunk and now leans heavily on the ground. But through resilience, it continues to flourish and bear fruit. No one would have imagined that this tree would continue to grow for years after it's fall, but it has.

If you look a little closer at the blossom's stamen, you can imagine a tiny fairy bending to sniff the pollen. Then maybe they sneeze. I imagine them smile and giggle afterward. They tuck a few petals in their belt for later use to fashion a new silky ensemble. Then my fairy dips their cupped hands into the heart of the peach blossom for nectar, a cooling, sweet drink. My fairy has translucent wings that beat rapidly. The wings are roundish with the texture of onion skin. My fairy lives in a castle in the clouds. It can get very wet in their cloud castle, so they have a plethora of umbrellas made from preserved leaves. My fairy is skilled at water proofing the umbrellas using tree sap. Every spring the fairy council holds the Raindrop Festival. My fairy always enters the umbrella competition. They always place highly in the creative and functional categories. However they are less skilled in the presentation and agility ones and often drop their umbrella! Thankfully, my fairy has crafted each umbrella with such as that it's incredably durable.
